Tumble Talk with Brooke and Holland

July 22, 2025

We sat down with stars Brooke and Holland for a deeper dive into their favorite lines of the show, what it’s like to be on stage with one other person, their favorite laundry hack, and more!

Stages: What is your favorite part of the show?

Brooke: Oh gosh, my favorite part of the show? It’s hard to pick. I just love getting to sing all this music and getting to sing it with Holland. All the music is just so fun to sing, and a lot of it I grew up with. It’s hard to pick even just one favorite song because there are so many. And it’s so fun too because Act 1 and Act 2 have such a different feel, so you get to kind of play where you’re in a concert in one and real life in the other.

Stages: Why should people come see Honky Tonk Laundry?

Holland: You should come see the show if you’re a fan of country music, and even if you’re not a fan of country music, because this is the music that we all grew up with in Texas. And even though the show is set in Tennessee, it’s all resonant music that we all know, and I bet you anything that you’ll leave here loving some of this music and be a country fan when you leave.

Stages: Lana Mae has her special, secret sauce for getting stains out. Do you have any secret cleaning hacks of your own?

Brooke:  Lana Mae has her special, secret sauce for getting out stains. Brooke Wilson’s is the magic eraser, some baking soda, and some vinegar. A little scrub [with that] will get just about anything clean.

Stages: How is being in a show with only two cast members total different from having multiple?

Holland: This show, with only two people, just Brooke and me, is a lot harder than doing a show with five people. I played seven characters in Das Barbecü recently. This show is a lot harder because we very rarely, if ever, leave the stage.

Stages: What is your favorite line in the show?

Brooke: It’s hard to pick a favorite line in the show, but I think one of my favorite ones is “Darlin’ how long have you been dumb? All day?”

Holland: My favorite line in the show is “I can’t, I have social anxiety,” because I do.
