My Top 5: Stages Artistic Director Derek Charles Livingston

This summer, 365 Things to Do Houston’s seasonal My Top 5 series highlights Houston’s creatives, makers, and leaders—and in turn, they share their favorite things to do around the city when they’re not hard at work directing their next professional project.

This week, we’re pleased to feature Derek Charles Livingston, artistic director at Stages, who moved to Houston from Utah in 2024 after accepting the theater company’s leadership role. The new Houstonian shares his favorite things to do in the HTX when he’s not hard at work.
