SIGNing the Song is a remarkable true story about the lasting impact one person can have on another. Written and performed by William Martinez, the show follows a young boy whose 8th-grade music teacher recognized something in him that would change the course of his life—opening the door to music, confidence, and an entirely new sense of possibility.
Through beloved Broadway favorites, popular standards, humor, and heartfelt storytelling, William brings that journey to life onstage. American Sign Language (ASL) is woven throughout the performance, creating a distinctive theatrical experience that reflects his upbringing in a Deaf household and the many worlds that shaped him.
Sing, laugh, and experience the story of a teacher who changed one life forever.
No knowledge of ASL is needed to enjoy the performance.
